Reid was nervous about the whole thing, breaking into the factory just racheted up his nerves. "You-you-you're sure you didn't set off an alarm?" he asked as he hesitantly hobbled on his crutches into the factory. He had his badge. If this all went south he could get them out of trouble, but not without getting a lecture from Rossi.
He was kind of excited about the fireworks. He usually went every year to see the show in DC. Often he went alone though so spending it with someone was extra exciting.
Eye-roll time. Faith pinned him with a look. "What, do I look like an amateur?" She sauntered next to him, guiding him toward the large service elevator in the corner. It jostled wildly when it began its ascent upward, but Faith leaned against the wall by the buttons, as though nothing in the world bothered her.
"Nothing's gone off all the other times I've come here," she shrugged. She was also sure that she could get them out of it if they were caught. The elevator car jolted again as they reached the top, and the doors opened on the roof, four stories above the rest of the waterfront and enough to give them a view of the rooftops of Cleveland's own little harbor. "That's the fun part anyway," she reminded him as she stepped out and made her way to the edge, sitting on it and letting her legs dangle over the edge like a little kid.
"Well n-no," Reid admitted in the elevator. Then the whole thing started jostling and he tried to avoid freaking out. By giving elevator facts of course
( ... )
"Good. Cause I'm not." She had watched him while they were in the elevator. Part of her wanted to chuckle but another part kind of felt bad for him. Not enough to speak on, of course. She'd save his crippling fear of the big bad elevator for another time.
"Death isn't something I do scared of. Plus, that's lame compared to the numbers vamps put up a year," she said. It wasn't entirely a lie, but it was more bravado than she'd have liked. "Dude, I know you're all about the science and shit, but hormones are fun."
She chuckled at what sounded to her like his attempt at a lame come-on. "Gonna offer to buy me a drink next? I beat you to it," she joked. Faith unzipped her bag, pulling out a six pack and clicked her tongue. She'd also brought a few waters and soda just in case.
