The odd young man calling himself Romeo who interrupted my time location spell last week called this afternoon. He sounded just as odd on the phone as he had in person, and only vaguely seemed to remember that I had requested he come close to the full moon for his binding spell. As it is tomorrow night, I'd say that's cutting it a bit close, but ( Read more... )

I hear the knock, then just for show throw on the robe that I'd been wearing when I met young "Romeo". May as well make it look good. I have all my spell ingredients laid out on the motel desk--athame, the nearly complete warding potion, a small bowl to catch the blood, a red silk cord for the binding ceremony, candles and herbs...yes, it all looked very ritualistic.

I open the door and step aside to allow the boy to enter. "You came alone? Where's the lovely bride-to-be?" I wave a hand toward the makeshift altar. "As you can see, everything is prepared."

"Ah, yes, the price. We can certainly get that out of the way with before she comes in."

I lead him over to the desk, and pick up my athame, mumbling a few words of Latin over it and the receiving bowl. "I'll just need to cut your finger a bit...best if it's the left hand. Hold it over the bowl, it'll only take a moment."

Romeo, in his wisdom, has set his heart on the girl who is now standing opposite me. It pains my heart that he does so, for she is unmistakably Capulet and thus he will render assunder his family ties. Yet I cannot turn my lifelong friend from this course and so I see no other choice than to support him in his endeavours. I am only glad that he sees fit to marry the girl, rather than seek to toy with her as he has done all his other women in the past. Mayhap that fact alone will be sufficient to gain some standing with both his own and her family.

He told us that he wished to speak alone to the priest he has found and thus I remain outside with his lady love, having sworn to my friend to protect her against any harm.

"My lord, my friend, it has been a pleasure to watch over," I pause and cough slightly, "your lady for you. Do you wish that I remain out here, for to watch in case any happenstance may seek to interrupt you in your nuptuals?"

I glance up at Scott, then back at the slip of rumpled paper in my hand. "The room should be along here..." I break off from reading the room numbers and smile up at him. "Really glad you came along, you can see why this place kinda creeped me out."

I smile as he says it's okay, and drapes an arm over my shoulder. Okay, that's new, but not unwelcome. "Oh, should be just around the corner here." I stop short when I see Eric standing there, looking all vigilant and stuff. Great, I was really hoping to talk to creepy priest guy alone. "Eric?"

I shall never grow tired of the dusk when the sun descends toward the horizon, spilling its dying light in a mutitude of dazzling colours across the darkening sky. Tonight is no different and I am lost in the beauty of the spectacle when I hear a name called. Tis not me the lady calls, yet I turn anyway for I had not expected to find any other here.

I am surprised therefore when I see Rosaline, the lady who did spurn the love of our fine Romeo. But surely she could not be here for him? She was not interested in my friend before, though it is not unknown for a woman to suddenly gain affection when their rejected finds happiness with another.

He's looking at me strangely, and Scott's still got an arm draped casually over me, so it's gonna be tricky how to explain why I'm here. Mentioning the priest thing is right out, obviously.

"I'm looking for a guy who has business with my father...I believe that's his room," I say, pointing to the motel room behind him. "Uh, why are you here?"

I pass a gaze over the gentleman she is with - though I have cause to use the term gentleman in the loosest sense of the word for one who would stand so close to a lady in public view would seem to be taking liberties. However, I can not see that he carries any weaponry nor that he seems to be an obvious threat.

"Methinks you may have the wrong room, good lady, for the gentleman within has business with nob ody tonight," I say smoothly.

I am unsure what the lady is trying to give me or for what she intends its use, however my reply dies upon my lips as the door to the room bursts open and something emerages from within. I have no thought of how to act, except to move, though I cannot run for my friend and his lady love are within and I am sworn to protect them. I move back off the pavement to the street and double round, avoiding the beast as I run to the room.

I am ashamed to say that I do abandon the lady Rosaline to her fate, however she does have her own protector, so let the man protect.

I watch in frustration as Eric starts backing away, not taking the hypo from me. Then I turn and see Jordy...the wolf...chasing Scott, who does the smart thing and jumps in the car, all the while shouting at me to get the hell out of there. Yeah, good plan. He's not gonna like it when I tell him we have to come back.

I have the hypo at the ready, and run for the car, glancing over my shoulder. At least Jordy's attacking the driver's side, maybe I can get in the passenger without notice...and shit, Scott's gonna be pissed about his paint job.
