Oh shit, oh shit! It's the full moon and Jordy's out there...somewhere. Scott and I just barely got away, but an old beat up car is a hell of a lot better than a tree in the case of a werewolf attack. Scott was driving pretty erratically, probably shaking about as much as I was, and swearing a lot under his breath. He calmed down a little when we ( Read more... )

Okay, how bizarre is this? J and I are driving around hunting for Jordy, who's totally wolfed out. I glance sideways at her; she has to be terrified. She's seen him like this before, and he nearly hurt her. I readjust the gun in my lap and ask her, "You okay?"

I glance at her. "Yeah, I'll be okay," I say. So my hands are still kinda shaking, but the car worked pretty well at keeping Jordy at bay before, and it was cool of Scott to let me drive it, even if he bailed.

I nod at the gun. "Main thing is to find Jordy before he kills anyone, or gets killed. Ever shot one of those? My aim kinda sucked when Mrs. Oz was showing me how."

"I've had some practice with them," I tell her. "Not on actual werewolves, but Buffy's trained me with tranq guns. Giles did too, a couple of times." I snicker. "The experience of training me made him clean his glasses an awful lot. He does that when he gets rattled."

My smile fades a little, hoping Giles is okay. We have no idea where he is, at all.

"Well, that's better than me, I took two shots at a target and the first time I missed completely." I slow down when I think I see something weird in the park, but it turns out to be a couple on bikes, taking a late night ride. "Uh, think we should warn 'em they might want to cut the ride short?" I ask Dawn.

Huh? I glance from Jan to Miss Dante, confused. They both seem to be with the program, though, so I just go with it.

"Hi," I say to the teacher.

I think...there's probably no real point in hiding it from Miss Dante, especially if she can maybe help. And sheesh, how hard is it to guess, with the full moon glowing over the tops of the buildings?

I unlock the back seat. "Maybe you should get in? See...you were right about Jordy, he's...uh, he's a werewolf, and he didn't get home on time tonight. So he's out there somewhere, and we need to tranq him before he--" I pause, realizing I've been going 50 miles an hour and maybe she needs to actually absorb some of that. "Um, could you like use his aura to figure out where he is?"

I know I can do it, and by that I mean that I'm capable enough to do it, but I'm still nervous about having to shoot Jordy. I mean, Jordy. I breathe in and out through my mouth, trying to keep it quiet. I have to. Can't let him hurt anyone.

So I got my ass out my front door which is a good sign and I'm off to Taffy's. Lookin' around it's sort of spooky outside, but then again this is Sunnydale so it's not completely absurd.

Walking around the corner I notice a couple streetlights are down and I raise an eyebrow suspiciously before looking up to the sky. Wow, look at that moon...

The night is long and the moon risen. I worry, it is unlike my companions to vanish this way. Tension between the families is high. I have tarried in all the usual places and there is no sign.

Perhaps I should report to Romeo's family? Surely they will have some news?

At least the moon is bright. I can find my way across Verona.

"The beast's trail goes this way," I say to Juliet, pointing in the direction of the clear paw prints on the ground. "Surely Romeo would not have taken the same direction? For he could not hope to stand against such a beast."

Though I am loathe to admit it, there is some merit in her words. I can only pray that the beast is not tracking my friend, for I fear it would be the worse for him.

She moves quietly and uncomplainingly by my side as we walk through the streets, following the odd print where the beast has walked upon the soil or grass as opposed to the road, our path clearly lit by the brightness of the moon which shines this night.
