New Girl in the Graveyard

The Restfield Cemetary was one of the largest in Sunnydale; Although certainly not the oldest, that distinction belonged to certain Indian Burial Grounds, and a few unmarked shallow plots just outside the city limits... Of the cemetaries still in use, Restfield was Samantha's favorite. Sure, the Du Lac crypt was broken into so much that Grandpa ( Read more... )

"Why does that not surprise me." I just quirk my eyebrow, all mock serious. Can't hold it for long though. "Just what I need more homework. At least they canceled the play. That should free up some time." I have to pay more attention to where the gravestones are, so I'm a bit more careful where I'm going.

Samantha sat impaitently on her grave, watching for any activity from Marcie's. She mentally berated herself for forgetting to check her mp3's players battery. The little white Apple-accessorie just sat there looking smug and shiney.

She jumped down, and hid at the sound of laughter from the path. She sunk a peek, and swore softly. A couple of kids, about her age, she recognized one of them right away... One of the girls in color guard, or was it band? At any rate, Samantha had spent too many years in choir to be on speaking terms with her. She didn't recognize the boy, he must have transfered in while Samantha had been homeschooled for the past year.

"'A Slayer is devouted to protecting the innocent from the darkness.'" she repeated the Slayer's Handbook by rote memory, "'They must never know of the vampires, the demons, or of The Slayer.' Damn meddeling kids... and they're coming this way!"

Well at least what ever it is distracted him from this essay I'm supposed to write.
Ok, not spooked. Hunting. Hunting? We're in a graveyard.
Is he wolfing out again?
I'm trying to hear...there's a rustle and then a shout.
...and Jordy takes off. Oh great. At least now he thinks I can handle him. before I think I'm running after my cousin.
actually I guess I can handle him.

I really should worry about the current problem. not running into a gravestone.

I'm too close when Jordy stops suddenly by hopping up onto a gravestone. split second decison. run into him? run into the stone? throw myself sideways into the dirt?

I'm gonna have to explain the grass stains to dad.
There's a girl in the graveyard. and a lot of dust.*cough*
She's got a stake and a cross, and is facing off with Jordy.

"Hey. umm." I'm at a loss here. I think I've seen her around school but I can't remember a name."Hi?" I'm sticking with cheerful and confused, since I'm both. "Have you two met before?" I ask Jordy.
She seems kinda intense.

"Yeah. I'll be fine." I take his hand and pull myself up, brushing off the dirt as best I can..."I think my jeans are toast though..."
