Giving up

I pace back and forth in my cell, the door left wide open since Brood-boy and Legs had their little spat. Obviously they don’t have any use for me any more. No more information they need. I’m free and clear of the drugs that were in my system.

I can’t believe I did-why am I still here? If they don’t care, why the fuck should I ( Read more... )

In spite of Gunn still being at Wolfram and Hart, Faith was in quite a good mood. Oz now seemed to be dealing with the revelation that she'd had a fling with Wes, Angel'd broken the clay pot to bits so they didn't have to research it anymore, and she was highly amused by C bringing a lawyer from said evil law firm home with her the other night. A faint smile quirked her lips as she walked through the lobby... and was nearly run over by Little Miss Attitude herself.

"'Scuse you," Faith said, smirking and planting her hands on her hips.

Kennedy stopped mid-step and turned to face Faith, her back towards the exit. She should just keep going, keep walking and get out of there. "Oh, I'm sorry, you're forgetting that I don't give a damn, so for once I'll just let your stupidity slide."

"And Faith? Kiss my ass."

Faith smiled widely. "Oh, baby, it makes me so fuckin' hot when you talk dirty." She snickered. "Oh, wait. No it doesn't." She leaned against the counter, her posture relaxed. "You looked a lot better locked in that cage."

Okay, so she shouldn't be doing this. Oz would give her that Look, if he were around. Maybe she wasn't completely reformed yet.

Kennedy rose her eyebrows and clicked her tongue, she knew she should have walked away, but the nagging in her persisted. Kick her ass. She walked back down the steps, taking her time with each one she took. "Aw, Faithy," she pressed her hand to her chest and smirked, knowing how much it ticked off the Slayer when she was called that. "You'd know more about being behind bars than I would."

Faith used the momentum to roll and spring to her feet, evading Kennedy's charge, whirling and bracing herself for impact. She arched an eyebrow, her smile teasing. She waited to see what the other girl was going to do next.

Kennedy clicked her tongue and smirked, she glanced at the pouf and used it for leverage to jump in the air and spin-kick at Faith.

The kick caught her on the hip, temporarily knocking her off-balance. Faith finished up against the wall and pushed off from it, launching herself at the other girl again, hoping to seize her arm and turn her around, possibly subdue her.

Faith grabbed hold of Kennedy's arm, but not before Kennedy could use Faith's own momentum against her and pushed her back against the wall, "mm, right where I want you," Kennedy purred, kneeing Faith in the ribs.

Faith had seen the flinch, and she smirked. "Havin' fun yet? 'Cause I am." She braced herself, waiting for her opponent's next move.

A low growl came from Kennedy’s throat. Having just about enough of playing, she lunged herself at the other woman, intending to tackle her.

Kennedy's momentum carried them into the opposite wall, and Faith breathed out what felt like the entire contents of her lungs as her shoulder hit. Sweat trickled down the back of her neck, and she twisted her head irritably, trying to wipe it without the benefit of her hands.

Kennedy grinned satisfactorily, but she was far from done. She gave the Slayer a punch in the ribs of good measure, "you want to know what's funny?" She said, connecting another blow but missing the last, Faith having caught on to her moves. "I use to think you were God. All that Power.."
