Ooh, I like this. I couldn't tell until the end that it was set in the early days, but then I realized how perfectly Buffy and Angel were characterized for that point in their relationship. I love "Whatever answer he is looking for, she wants him to find it in her", and the way he pulls back when she's open about wanting him.

Love how Angel pulls back when he realizes that Buffy might ne interested. At thisa poinr he was definitely trying to protect her from himself.

I thought the "in class" was kind of a trigger for him too. It reinforces his idea of what life is supposed to be like for regular people that he wants to still be there for her, even if she's looking to cross it.
