It's for the best. The show has not been very good the past couple of seasons.

Oh, but see, that might be the general consensus, but I disagree. Less laughs, yes. The dialogue definitely doesn't explode with the jokes quite as much as before. But dramatically, it's only gotten better. I've adored this season and after only discovering the show a little over a year ago, I can't believe it's already ending. I didn't get my 7 years like most fans.

I can't rationally discuss the last couple of seasons of GG without resorting to lots of cursing.

There's just so much wrong with the way the show has gone, and now it's gotten to the point where little character things that never would have been overlooked are starting to creep in. Luke getting Lorelai's movie joke from last week, for instance. THE MAN DOES NOT WATCH MOVIES.

The show may be more dramatically interesting (I could argue the point, but I won't) but it's had all the soul sucked out of it. All the characters talked way too fast because they were all just trying to keep their head above water and their thoughts from racing around, and now they're all wandering around as though they're on lithium. Lorelai used humor as a deflection to mask her pain. The pain is still there, but now she's turned into a soap opera character instead of the strong woman that left a life of priviledge and raised her daughter on her own.

ARGH I HATE THE LAST COUPLE OF SEASONS SO MUCH I WANT THEM TO BE ERASED FROM REALITY
