I'm not too fond of any of the Cd layouts in combination with the cover, it just doesn't work together. I like #3, but don't like it in conjunction with the cover itself. Just my 2 cents

right on. I can definitely understand your position. um, you can yell at me for not disclosing that there will be other semi-random, high-contrast, stark photographs on other surfaces of this case, insert booklet, etc. so the fact that the specific images don't jive 100% isn't as big of a problem. there's kind of a managerie of images. the seemingly random natures are actually part of the mood we're going for... but it's still nice to try to tie things together some. #3, from a design perspective, is also my fav, for the record. however, I feel like it doesn't suit the mood of the other images. selecting an image for this disc face is a hugely daunting task due to the complexity of the relationship(s) between all the images. hence the post. :P thanks, sam. if you read this, it was real nice to hear from you. :)

My favorite is #3, followed by #7, though I'm not so crazy on the white area. However, as someone mentioned above, I like them by themselves but not so much as with the cover. The hula hoop girl gives off a serious ska vibe (which is probably why I was drawn to it, honestly) while I didn't feel any preconceived notions about #7. I also want to say that I didn't really give some of the other designs a fair chance, as I personally dislike photographs as label art.

Of everything up here, I think label #7 is also the most original piece of artwork.

cool cool. I can respect where you're coming from for sure. thanks for the input. in case you were wondering, #7's photo was actually taken in the form you now see it. only the red was added later and just a tiny bit of cropping occurred on the disc's design. :) three cheers for macro-photography, eh? *hugs* you should tell me/us/lj about how your tour is doing. we miss ya. ;)
