[ McCoy hears the abduction taking place over the journals whilst working at the clinic and when he hears Buffy's sarcastic quip, the doctor picks up his belongings and runs across the village back to the house they share. But by the time he arrives, she is already gone and McCoy surveys the weapons strewn around the room she shares with Jim with a mixture of anger and dread. ]

[ Dropping his medical kit onto the floor, he tidies up the strewn weapons and puts them back into the weapon chest. Might as well keep them in good order for when she comes back. ]

[Thumping noises can be heard as Uhura scrambles up from a table at the library where she's been studying. By the time she makes it back to the house, of course, Buffy is gone.

She utters a string of expletives in no less than eight Federation-recognized languages before slamming out of the house to go for a brisk jog, hoping to ease some of her frustration at not being able to do anything.]
