[It was a pretty average day. Still not strong--but feeling better--Buffy bustles around the house. In fact, she's made some soup for Kirk. After all, it was the tried and tested remedy for all ailments. And...after the state he was returned in. Well ( Read more... )

It is a sad thing, to lose someone so suddenly.

It is the way of this place. We never know when it is that we may be taken.

[ Voice ] th-this is awful. ;; sniperkingftw February 10 2010, 21:32:18 UTC
It- it usually means they've gone home. Everyone always says so, anyway.

[ Oh-oh god don't cry. ] I'm really sorry. I mean, I'm sorry that you lost your friend. Not that it's a really bad thing that he went home, but it isn't very fair to you or anyone that he knows here. [ Nya, inner flail. ]

You should- you should have tea. Sometimes that helps, when someone I know is upset.

[That...was a lot of words. A fact Buffy's actually appreciative of. But too soon comes the moment where she must reply and with a muffled voice:]

Tea. [In spite of it all, there's a bitter laugh.] I know someone who's like that. The whole...tea-drinking thing. He says it worked.

[ Distraction tactic? He's good at iiit~ ] People don't usually suggest things that don't work. Maybe it really depends on who it is, though. One of my friends would probably tell you to eat a lot of meat, and I don't think I've seen that work for anybody but him.

But a lot of things work for him that wouldn't work for anyone else, so I guess it makes sense.

[What she needs is a good scapegoat to take the frustrations out on. A vamp or a demony thing. But that means she'd also need some of her mojo back.

Wait--what? Something makes her start.] Meat? Really?

I don't know what I'd do if one of my buddies got sent home. 'Specially since one just got here. I guess it'd make me pretty lonely.

It's cruel. They stick us here and we end up caring and then bam, they're gone.

This is why it's better not to worry about that sort of thing.

[She can tell herself that, anyway.]

[Pause. Buffy, in all her emotional distress, just lets it go with the pen.]

I'd rather not be a robot.

Are you saying you're happy right now?

No, but I was. And if I hadn't have cared? Then I wouldn't have been, then.
