[ It's a beautiful fall day in the neighbourhood and the Slayer and her ex-Watcher are doing something they should have done a while ago. Despite the Shift (or perhaps, in a twisted way, because of it), they are sitting out on a pretty little checked blanket. A picnic basket stands nearby. Many fantastic, eye-opening heart-to-hearts are about to ( Read more... )

buffy > giles > tony? slaying September 29 2011, 02:02:10 UTC
[ oh god. shoot her now.

buffy grimaces at the billionaire with all her best grimace-y powers at work. she doesn't need tony to see her like this -- all princess'd up and unable to defend herself with the usual acerbic, verbal acrobatics. ]

[And that's two men in Buffy's life that make Giles want to beat his head against a wall. Wonderful.

In a decidedly unhelpful tone of voice:] Hello. Did you need something?

[Robert just cannot stop getting princess'd, for this event. He's probably been kidnapped by half the dragons in Luceti at this point, and been rescued by half the vailant knights. You'd think he would be getting better at princessing, by now.

But no. Not really.

Right now, he's busy cavorting gaily through the forest, giving in to this latest impulse to dance for no particular reason, and accompanied by a half-dozen small mammals, including a few chipmunks and a rabbit. So distracted is he by the flouncing around that he very nearly runs into that impromptu guillotine.

... And then he stares, princess-y-ness pushed aside in favour of horror (IT IS WOOD!) and abject confusion.]

[ yeah. buffy can never quite get a handle on the whole damseling business, either.

she watches robert's clumsy flouncing with a bit of wry amusement, sliding her gaze questioningly back to giles after a moment. ]

[Whereas Giles doesn't appear to notice Robert until he realizes that Buffy's watching something. What? Princesses aren't on his mental map right now. Apart from one. He looks back at her blankly, then turns to try and find what she'd been watching.

He spots Robert, and smiles with a grim mixture of wry amusement and resigned expectation.]

Good afternoon, Robert.

DERP this was me forgetting to track the post... *fails* semper_cogitans September 29 2011, 19:17:35 UTC
[Oh, this is a great first meeting. Somewhere in Robert's mind the anxiety of meeting a new person - new person - nags at him. Princess etiquette, however, dictates an awkward attempt at a curtsy. Which he manages to botch pretty badly.]

Er... good afternoon, Giles - and...? [He glances over at Buffy, questioningly.]

[ he's sorely tempted to throw the journal away and wait it out, but.. housemates are housemates, whether they're affected by an experiment or not, and Doctor McCoy soon wanders down to take a closer look. ]

[ and this housemate is sitting out in a pretty pink dress and looking stroppy. the dress is new(ish). the stroppiness is not.

though her mood does lighten at the sight of bones. surely, the doctor's heartfelt pragmatism can shed some salvation on this odd little tale. ]

[Voice] Giles for now, maybe more later? lostinmyway September 29 2011, 18:56:01 UTC
[You're confusing her again, Giles. Things were odd enough when you were a dragon, but now, even if you're less scaly than before, you aren't sounding very friendly.

Still, Giles did say he was looking forward to any visitors who might like to stop by, and so, dressed as Martel, Grune says:] Oh, I'd like to visit. Maybe we can have tea this time.

[Since, you know, the last attempt had been interrupted by brave Sir Pommy.]

[...congratulations, Grune. If anyone could shift him out of this Shift through sheer panic, it's you. Giles trips over his tongue in his haste to reply.]

N-No, Grune, it's, it's fine. I'll...p-probably be a bit busy for a while, and I, um, I don't have any tea on hand, in any case. I wouldn't want you to be bored o-or troubled while all this is going on.

[...he'll have to ask Dhaos or Ginia later. He'll have to ask later how one actually does dissuade Grune from doing something, because he utterly missed that memo and he is not making her memory issues worse with a blow to the head.]

Hmm.... Maybe you could come visit me. I have tea...I think.
