I realized at one point in our conversation yesterday I said I had been reading Oscar Wilde, but then said "As You Like It" as the play I'd read by him. This is obviously false, since Shakespeare wrote As You Like It (which i also read for the first time this year); I was thinking of The Importance of Being Earnest. I gravely misspoke and have decided to break our seven years of silence by trying to save face now and correct myself while simultaneously risking losing face by pointing out an error you may have not even noticed. That is all.
Don't worry, I glossed over it. I remember vaguely trying to place it in Oscar Wilde's oeuvre, and for some reason it didn't click as Shakespeare, which I know it is - but then the conversation moved on and the matter dribbled from my mind. But now that I know, Jesus golly, how could you make such a mistake! How can you look yourself in the mirror! It's like you stabbed me right in the heart! I can't ever forgive this! I'll be bedridden for weeks!
