So... driving into work this morning, I choose more-or-less at random to take I-280 instead of 101.  There's a section of that freeway that runs along a ridge line overlooking SFO airport; so when aircraft depart to the west, while you're not really looking down on them, you do get a view with a lower angle than you would if you were at the same

The night I left LHR to move to Melbourne Air Force One was parked there (Clinton was in town) and we taxied past it. It was all lit up with a secret service man every couple of years circling it. Cool to see.
