As of Monday, I became an official resident of North Hollywood, California. I have an apartment with a friend of mine in a little arts district called NoHo. I can walk a block or two outside my apartment and I'm surrounded by play houses, recording studios, art galleries, restaurants, book stores, and even a subway terminal which, contrary to ( Read more... )

Wow. I'm so out of the loop. thedarklinglord June 18 2004, 19:25:13 UTC
I had no idea you were even thinking of moving to California, let alone that you were already in the process of getting established out there. Part of me is sad that there'll be no more operas with you...but, of course, I'm very excited for you with this new adventure and love to hear how happy you sound. :) One of the things I've always loved about you is that courageous, free-spirited nature, that passion for just following your heart wherever it may lead you. Best of luck with the move and may all your adventures be exciting and enriching.

It has been a while since we talked! The California thing kind of came out of nowhere a few months ago. I had a friend moving to LA and that opened up an opportunity for me to consider it as a place to live. I visited at the end of April and loved it, so I turned around and planned a trip at the beginning of June to apartment hunt with my friend. My last day of the trip I signed a lease, and now I just have to make the trip across the country and begin my new life. It's hard to believe that 6 months ago I never would have considered living in California, but now I can't imagine going anywhere else. (For now, at least...I still have a few more cities left to call home in this lifetime.)

There are operas in LA, too. You can always come visit :o) Of course, I have yet to see an opera at the Met, so maybe one day we could fly into NYC and meet for one. Who knows, if the opportunity is there you know I'm up for it!

Keep in touch, ok?

yesterday, i saw some (approx.) 14 yr old kid with his family sporting their shirt. i had been drinking, a lot, (it was 7 pm and the family was going to dinner.) i started screaming about the bad. i think it made him feel cool, and unnerved his mother.

any idea how their sales are doing?

aww how nice of you to make a kid feel cool :o) Although the way you phrased it gave me the funniest image of you standing there screaming at the boy like a teenage girl at a Justin Timberlake concert.

I just checked Billboard and they're up to #43 on the chart, up from #53 last week. Go Franzie!

Hey, I've got some pictures of them I took at The Wiltern in LA, if you want to see. I'm trying to upload them, but I'm at a hotel and the connection is screwing with me. Once I'm able to find a solid connection they'll be located at http://www.thesleepersopera.com/photos/franz.
