It's never just good or bad
So I got the promotion. I'm now Assistant Store Manager. I've been given a great raise. I lost a friend. He apparently wasn't much of a friend (though in his mind he was flawless). I want to tell you this. Tara, sweetie, you are not his mother nor should you take on that as his sister. You gave him advice, a home, food, a way out - and he needs to take responsibility. I know it has to be painful to see your little brother go through all of this stuff...
But the only way he'll ever change is through himself.
Sometimes we just have to offer love and remember to not let the choices of those we love and care for affect the lives we are trying to create.
There is only so much we can do before we start neglecting ourselves...
