Then why does the Library exist? Grar...I mean, in the manner in which it does....it just seems almost sad, that its been confined to the realm of simply being a big archive for books noone cares about and study halls

I read books. I go to the library, unfortunately the books I like to read are so often not in the library at all. Stupid childrens books and books far far out of print.
The Tech library is also pretty pitiful compared to most libraries I have visited. Especially after the remodel. When the regular public library in your hometown has SIGNIFICANTLY more books than the library at your university, and you have visited university libraries that go seven stories UNDERGROUND, with books floor to ceiling and aisles so narrow you have to walk sideways, it's hard to not be sickened when a library EXPANSION actually REDUCES the shelf space.
Most of the books I check out are for papers. Which makes me kind of sad because there are many many books that I want to check out just to read, but I never really get time. Right now I have about 10 books checked out for a paper I have to do, and 4 DVDs of an anime series. Our DVD section has some pretty good stuff so that's what I've been into lately. Otherwise it's fun to look at some of the stuff in the comics section...and browsing the new books. So in the end, I really love the library, but I wish I didn't have to do as much work for class so I could actually enjoy it to the fullest.
