Information was gathered from an Associated Press news report, via yahoo, titled Lawyer: Madoff will plead guilty to all charges.

Apparently, 70 year old former Nasdaq chairman Bernard Madoff will plead guilty to all 11 felony charges, such as securities fraud and perjury. He is expected to face a sentence of up 150 years in prison.

I believe they do it that way, so it is harder for the convict to be eligible for parole.

I just don't see why they can't say "The number of years you would be sentenced for all of these crimes will be longer than your possible natural life, thus, we are sentencing you to life in prison without the possibility of parole." I guess I just think they should make it more realistic sounding.
