A Few Brain Cells Short of a Full Thought....

I've had a few strange days... hence no new entries....

I did have a fiddle with the 'comment' settings on both my blog and my Live Journal, which achieved nothing , except the accidental deletions of several comments (sorry to those who got deleted! - wasn't deleting you on purpose!) LOL

I used to find that thought depressing - that whatever I was working on now, I would be outdoing in the future. (I think this was when I was composing music!)

But then, I read some book by some author about writing fantasy and he said something along the lines of (so far this sentence has been nicely vague eh?!)

If you spend ten years perfecting one book you miss out on writing all the books you could have been writing in that ten years.

I know you have to polish it and get it as best you can, but I think he was saying there is a time to move on. And that what you do in the now is worthwhile, no matter what you do in the future.
It made me feel better. Like Kathy keeps saying to me "just keep writing".

It might come from a little blue fish with a ten second memory span, but there is wisdom in it :)
