priorities

They're always saying that no one ever says "I wish I spent more time in the office" on their deathbed. They say most people say they wish they had spent more time with family and friends. I wonder... is this going to eventually become "no one ever says 'I wish I'd spent more time online/on my phone' on their deathbed ( Read more... )

I don't play computer games at all. Personally I think they are a waste of time but I know if I'd start I'd probably get sucked in ... so I just never started.

I think it's very easy to get sucked in, at least partially because many of them are designed to be (oh, I just have to do x to level up? ok!) and in the games where you play with/against people, you can develop a sense of obligation. I enjoy the few I play but I'm also not so hooked on them that I couldn't give them up. I have a friend who played Farmville and had a really slow computer and would literally spend hours tending her farm every day. She kept saying that she hated it but she felt like she had invested too much time to just give it up. It definitely made me re-think the games I play.
