I loved this. And maybe you should consider leaving the story like that.
I think that in reality there isn't a way to 'give closure' to a drama like this, because the aftermath can take months or sometimes years to finally be recognized.
I believe, you've done a wonderful job in capturing a moment in time for the Walkers.
Thank you! The story is finished as is, I was just thinking about possibly writing a scene several months in the future. This story was all about showing the immediate reactions; an epilogue would look at things four or five months later to show how things hadn't really gotten better. But we'll see...it's still definitely a maybe. Yeah, figuring out that there wouldn't be closure was really helpful. I did have Scotty's plot line wrap up, but in retrospect it feels a little too clean. In my head I have the entire story figured out past what I had written, and I would have loved to show Scotty and Kevin struggling with the effects of the accident past what I had written. That's part of the reason I'm thinking about doing an epilogue. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it!
I'm so happy that some people actually like this. I just felt like it got away from me a bit, but I did enjoy writing it, so it's good that some people liked reading it.
I cant tell you how excited I was to come home and see part 6. I've loved this story from the get go. I think you've captured the entire family perfectly. I like that you gave us a chance to see what came of the accident as they all tried to accept what had happened. Having it happen and then boom be a year later left so much to question.
I'm so glad you liked it! I was a little frustrated with it; I think I was a little overly-ambitious. But it's over now, and no one seemed to hate it, so that's good enough for me! I did really like parts of it, and overall it was a good experience.
