Okay, that's better. :) While I was reading it on my flist page, I kept hovering the mouse around, looking for a link. hee
Her arrest was absolute bullshit. Her shirt wasn't offensive, and it wasn't vulgar. It posed a valid question. Sounds like she has grounds for a lawsuit.
People are pointing to the fact that demonstrating inside the Capitol is a misdemeanor and therefore saying whatever to the whole thing, but...since when is wearing a t-shirt the same thing as a demonstration? Especially since her shirt wasn't even inflammatory, really.

Cindy Sheehan - the anti-war activist - was arrested in the House chambers last night because she refused to cover up her t-shirt which read "2,245 dead. How many more?"
I'm not always in agreement with Cindy, but I still don't see why she can't sit in the gallery wearing that shirt. She didn't crash the party - she was the invited guest of Lynn Woolsey, who is a Representative from California. The shirt asks a legitimate question and, as far as I can tell, falls clearly under the First Amendment.
I hate this administration.

That was another guest - the wife of a Representative from Florida. And boy was he pissed!
Now, of course, the Capitol police have apologized. Whoops. We didn't realize that its not really illegal. Please don't sue us.
You would think that these people would know their own law.
