I have two dozen posts (or maybe one just really long, fragmented one) to write, but in the meantime I have to use LJ as my personal filing system. Below is a link to a house we toured and fell in love with on our recent trip to Kankakee. Any small prayers/offerings/sacrifices to the real estate saint/deity of your choice would be most ( Read more... )

I am throwing all kinds of good house-buying-and-selling mojo your way.

Love you to pieces, hon!

Mr. Jackson also wishes you well and will personally see to it that no snakes in any form enter the transaction.

With Sam and you on my side, how could I fail?! Any and all mojo is appreciated and welcome.

The love is mutual, darling.

That floor is amazing! I'll sacrifice some thetans to Lord Xenu.

The floor might actually be a landing strip/summoning glyph FOR the Lord Xenu, so that might be an excellent plan. Thanks for the billion years of servitude in exchange for your sacrifice!

Ooh, I hope you'll get the house, so I can live there vicariously through you. Offerings have already being made to appease the god Century 21 and an "exotic" dance performed to the satisfaction of St. Re/Max.

Englighten me on this piece of cultural reference!

J.E.B. is the name of Kevin Bacon's character in the much-reviled (but beloved by me) She's Having a Baby. There's a scene where Elizabeth McGovern calls an unwilling Bacon to bed for "ovulation sex" where she uses his full name that never fails to crack me up.

The beauty of YouTube is that any pagan exotic dances can now be shared easily with your LJ friends. Just a thought...

Hi slee! That house is beautiful. Good luck -- I hope you get it!

How's your training/orientation stuff going?

Thanks, marmy. I would LOVE for this to work out.

Training is going well. I'm in Canada for another three week stay, but the first three weeks went by fast. My lab in Illinois is nowhere near being ready, so it might not be until the end of October before I can hope to move in. I sense the charm of hotel living wearing off long before then, though.

Plenty of rooms for visitors, that's for sure! If we could afford another $100,000, we could buy a house with a wine cellar featuring a "Speakeasy-style door" that holds 900 bottles. Kankakee real estate is a weird thing.
