I bought a tin of duck meat. It looks a bit like a small tin of tuna, or maybe cat food (it's definitely not cat food)? Like the smallest tin of baked beans you get. It says steamed duck for ingredients with some garlic and onion. I'm assuming that the food labelling regulations here aren't as strict so the long list of preservatives are just not

Tinned meat and fish are usually cooked as part of the canning and preserving process, so you could probably eat it cold from the can. You probably wouldn't want to as it would be... clammy! Heating it through would make it more appealing.

I'd chop it up and stir fry it with extra fresh veg. If I was being lazy (which is my default cooking mode) I'd be tempted to shred it, heat it up in the microwave and eat it in a bun or a wrap, maybe with a blob of sauce. Sort of like a pulled pork burger, but a pulled duck burger!

My French mother has developed an (inexplicable) love of spam-like tinned meat, and gave me a tin of this...

I had spam fritters as part of a WW2-themed event at the Tank Museum. They were very nasty. (I love corned beef though.)
