I'm with Aziraphale from Good Omens on the whole idea of the Rapture. (not sure on the start, can't see my copy anywhere)
"Do you really think with all the hordes of hell arising that anybody's going to have time to go around picking people out and sticking them up in the air to sneer at all the others dying of burning and drowning and radiation sickness below? If that's your idea of a morally acceptable time, I might add."
I am sure, however, of that last sentence, which is why I give it in bold. John's Revelation is still a great read for the imagery alone, even before you look beyond that layer. Unfortunately I've already received my buying and selling mark...I carry my debit card in my hand, and as far as the forehead goes? I store my PIN in my brain!
Extremists of any faith group scare the life out of me.
