Americal Idol finale - part 1

IT'S HERE!! :D

Holy crap, I love video editing :')
The editors on this show always come up with something awesome for the intros. I'm a little envious ^^'

LOL, they showed Crystal and Lee walking through the audience, touching people's hands as they went, and one of them knocked the mic out of Crystal's hands xD;
(it just looked like she dropped it :P)

Oh, Crystal won the coin toss and offered to go second. They said on the news earlier that morning that the last person to perform is more likely to win the whole thing. Tch :|

Lee's singing "The Boxer" again, the one from the inspirational week.
It was pretty good.
Randy liked it, said it was a good way to start the show, but that it wasn't energetic or exciting enough (It couldn't be with the song he chose).
Ellen said she couldn't be prouder of him than if she birthed him herself :p
Simon wanted a lot more passion and excitement from it, and said that it was like a kiss on the cheek when he wanted a kiss on the lips. He then hurried and said "not from you, but you know what I'm saying", hehe ;p

Crystal's singing "Me and Bobby McGee".
That was pretty good, too.
Randy said that he hopes she makes her album like that, because it was dope. :P
Ellen said that she's so compelling on stage and stunning.
Simon said it brought him back to when they first fell in love with her, since the last few weeks weren't her greatest, that the performance was terrific, and that it's a competition now.

The executive producers chose "Everybody Hurts" for Lee.
It was also pretty good.
Randy said that it was better than the first performance.
Kara said it wasn't a perfect vocal, but she loved the emotion in it.
Simon said it was a brilliant choice of song for him, but that he can sense that Lee's nervous, and that he really needs to realize how important this night is and come out in the next performance and do well with it.

The executive producers chose "Black Velvet" for Crystal.
It was good, but she kinda shouted it a little.
Randy said "this is what I'm talking about!" and that "Mama Sox" was in it to win it.
Ellen said it was like a Cher concert with the wardrobe changes :P And that it was fantastic.
Kara said that tonight's the night where you have ot "come up and kill yourself on stage" (lol, whut? xD) and hit notes you haven't hit before and all that, and that she did a great job.
Simon said he's allergic to that song :P Since he's heard it so many times, usually done terribly, on the show in the past. But he said that she took that song and nailed it.

Oh dear God, the original songs are coming up ._.'

More often than not, they've been craaaap.

Lee's is called "Beautiful Day"
...wait, this is U2's song. O_O
Haha, guess they finally figured it out that their originals are crap XD

It was alright, hard to compete with U2, ya know?
And he actually went without the guitar this time D:
Ellen's so proud of him :]
Kara said he got swallowed up by the song, but that he did a good job with it.
Simon said he thought Lee made the most of it, and that he is what this competition is designed for, and he wishes the best for him.

Crystal's singing "Up To The Mountain".
I'm not sure if I've heard this song before or not, but it was pretty good.
Ellen said that if she put out an album, she'd buy it, if she went on tour, she'd go on it and watch her, if she made a salad, she'd eat it. lol :p
Before Simon got to say something, Crystal asked to speak, and she took the time out to praise Simon on the great job he's done on the show all these years.
it was nice, but it also seemed like a kiss-up xP
Simon said, and it was the last time he'd judge anything on the show again, that it was her best performance on the whole season, and that it was outstanding.

Dammit, I think Crystal might win this thing after all! Dx
...she did kinda do better than Lee did... >.>
I gotta hand it to her though, she really brought it tonight.

Wow, I didn't know Will Young, the winner of the first Pop Idol in the UK, sung the vote-off song this year :o He sang it during a video tribute to the season.
The rest of the top 12 contestants came up on stage and greeted and hugged Crystal and Lee =)
I was happy to see Siobhan again :]
And Lilly on the tribute video, too.
I don't think they showed John Park, though...

Ooh, Lady Gaga themed Glee, YAY! :D

Sucks that I didn't get to see more of it, though =(
(mom doesn't like Glee -.-)

But I saw the Bad Romance performance! :D

Gaah, I hate that Lee did so crappily in comparison to Crystal tonight, it makes me sad :[

Well, tonight's the big finale, we'll see how it goes ^^'

In something non-AI related, I got my hair frosted monday morning =)
Well, I guess it's called highlighting, but my mom calls it frosting and does it in thin strips with a crocheting hook.
My mom did it, since it was my first time doing it (well, except when she did it when I was little), and I think it turned out pretty nice. Just little blonde strands here and there; it blends nicely. I'm happy with it ^^

And over the weekend I watched the movies Legion and The Blind Side with my folks.

Legion was pretty cool, my mom and dad both really liked it; though after watching part of it again, I realized I probably only liked about half of it ^^' We watched it during and after dinner, so I ended up washing dishes during the dull dialogue scenes :P
But the special/visual effects were awesome, and the concept and storyline was interesting.
(Even though after watching God-knows-how-many episodes of Supernatural, I found it hard to believe that possessed people could be killed with just an ordinary gun. xP)
Plus I just kinda have a thing for angels; I like them, I think they're awesome, and I REALLY liked the British guy's performance as Michael.
Not to mention that Michael reminded me of a certain someone...

Tan trenchcoat = Badass Angel

(that's Castiel from Supernatural on the left, and the similarity is mostly in appearance, but still)

Yeah, I admit it, I've got a thing for angels that kick major ass.

The angel fight(s) in this? Awesoooome ^///^
And the CG detail on the wings, omg, gorgeous :o

But anyway, yeah, it wasn't the best movie EVER, but it was fun and interesting, and I'd count it as one of my favorite horror movies.
Some may find this hard to believe, but I've seen quite a few horror movies. My mom's kinda got a thing for 'em, so I've seen garden variety of them. At least enough to know what I like and what I don't like. I tend to like the ones with supernatural themes; okay, I know a LOT of them do, but I mean DECENT supernatural themes.
And I've also noticed that I like the movies that are more like Japanese-style horror movies; ones that focus on the creep factor more than excessive blood, gore, and violence, like American horror movies tend to do. I hate excessively-violent/gory horror movies, I find them unpleasantly unsettling ._.' Not to mention unnecessarily gory.
Legion had blood and violence, sure, but it mostly relied on the creep factor. The possessed people? FREAKY. o_o

But yeah, I wouldn't count most of the horror movies I've seen among my favorite movies; most of them are laughably terrible most of the time. I'd count Legion among the ones that I actually DO like, along with The Grudge, which was based on a Japanese horror movie, and apparently Coraline is categorized as a horror movie as well.

We watched The Blind Side the next night; I liked it. It was a really nice movie, just like what you've heard about it. Sandra Bullock did do a great job in it; I can see why she won that Oscar. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a nice, uplifting story that's rooted in reality.
(it being based on a true story and all)

...wow, I geeked out WAY too much about Legion... >.>

Eh, what can I say? I have kind of a weird taste in movies sometimes. ^^'
Seriously, one of my other favorites is A.I.: Artificial Intelligence. Ya know, the one with Haley Joel Osment as the boy robot? I first watched it when I was like, 13, and a month or two ago I watched it again, and I STILL loved it. It's sad as hell, but still good.
Is it weird that my favorite Jude Law role so far is him as a robot gigilo? >.>'
