Aside from security (which, might I add, is ALWAYS publicly funded), the inaguration ceremony is privately funded.

That's not quite my point. He's making a spectacle of himself when half or most of this country doesn't want that. It's inappropriate at "wartime". A war he started. He's gloating, and for no real reason.

First of all, its not his money but more likely his donors. Second of all, its tradition. He doesnt seem much like one to change tradition. The inaguration ceremonies went on during vietnam and korea, so how is he any worse than other presidents in this regard?

FDR held a low-key inauguration during WWII. Doesn't Bush and his supporters compare this war to that one, in importance? Put up or shut up. They like to have it both ways.

'Cause our freeee-doms are in jeopardy with Saddam gone -- oops, we're safer now with 100,000 terrorists over there. Ouch.
