I probably won't go to a movie theatre unless it's a Canadian film and I need to sleep someplace air conditioned. Some days or nights when it's a million degrees, I'll pay $20 for that, and that's it.
Bad experience in the theater I guess? Some fucktards can really ruin the experience for the rest of us.
I really enjoyed the silent hill movie myself, in my opinion it met and exceeded my expectations for the film. Have you played the games yourself? It seemed to embody the spirit of them fairly well, and the use of camera angles and imagery that was present in the game gave it the same creepy feel. Of course, it wasn't good enough to redeem video game movies... Super mario dug too much of a hole for anything to pull them out, especially after alot of the crap that came tumbling down after it.
Don't bother with four unless you like the idea off playing it all over again and backwards with slightly different puzzles because half of four is simply that.
People who have known me for a long time know that I do not like movie theatres. I cannot place exactly why. There are very few movies that I will go to the theatre for. So few that I could count all of the movies that I have gone to, on my hands. I do not think it is the cost, nor do I think it is the "waste" of two hours I could otherwise spend with friends, nor is it the inconvenience. Instead, I think it is a combination of all of those things, and other things that I cannot place my finger on at the moment

You know, I was looking through our dvds yesterday and saw Wing Commander in there. My reactions were as follows:
- We have Wing Commander?? I haven't seen that! - Wait a sec, yes I have. What happened in that movie anyway? - *looking at the back* Okay, that's the guy that got pissed when his girlfriend died, that's the other guy who has to fly the secret weapon or something. I don't really remember anything else about this movie. Wow.
It was kinda funny. I did enjoy the movie however in an entertained popcorn-munching sort of way. I should probably watch it again.
It is certainly one of those movies that you switch your brain off at the door or livingroom, but then, most movies are. It didn't follow the videogame too accurately, but it was based more on the universe than any specific game event. With a franchise as enormous as Wing Commander, it would be impossible to cover it all in movies, and it is also very easy to imagine there are hundreds of subplots going on, which the movie covered. I thought it worked well.

Yep, I've played a number of the games. I've only finished 1 and 2 for one ending each, but I'm working on 3 on and off.
