I'm totally with you on every word you've said here Stevie now that I too have grown out of the "nothing is any good if other people like it" stubbornness of my youth. Music is a career just like anything else and if an artist can make enough money to allow them to continue then why shriek "sellout!" just because they're on an advert or film soundtrack? Like you say, it's different if they're compromising their artistic integrity for the sake of a few bob (eg Steve Earle's "The Revolution Starts Here" on a car advert) but I happened to think the Devendra Banhart Clover advert was quite a clever juxtaposition.
And nobody ever changed the world, or the music industry, by joining a Facebook group!

Was unfortunate to read an article about Fall Out Boy last night and it was like listening to a random businessman, it seemed like it was all for the money and not for the music. What rot.
But FB could be a starting point, it's not going to get Mr Buckley to number one though ;o(
