Important note

Dec 02, 2009 10:57

So I'm sitting here reading a newspaper, one printed on paper like in the good old days. I wonder what time it is, so I check the upper right corner of the screen paper.

There is no clock at the upper right corner. Because a newspaper is not a laptop! (Note to print media: look into clocks on the page. Could turn things around in a big way.)

Somebody else was just telling me about the acoustics in their apartment building and how they couldn't hear their neighbors through the walls but could hear every word when walking down the corridor. It's kind of fascinating/awkward/hee, yeah? Also, PRETTY SURE THEY ALREADY DID.

I have been known to attempt to access the little gmail notifier thingy in all types of printed media. Reading is different when it won't constantly alert me to the time and temperature and if someone needs to contact me!

It would be so useful and also helpful! Oh, print media, why so neglecting of basic necessities?

Heeee! I've actually hit the "page down" key on my keyboard sometimes when reading something on paper, only to remember, oh yeah...paper. No "page down." *facepalms*

So you are not alone. We are children of the digital age (okay, some of us are adults of the digital age, but I grew up reading a lot of science fiction; I'm prewired like someone 20 years younger).

NICE.

I know, right? I caught on to the internets relatively late, but damn did I get mind-absorbed thoroughly.

Hee.

Sli, guess what? Someone just sent me this, and I am not big on forwarding stuff, but when you click this link you will see why I am sending it to you particularly. :) :)

Also: Hi! Am departing shortly for 24 hours of dog-sitting. Wee baby Commander Cody is now 14 months old and weighs 105 lbs. He still BOUNCES. Indy mostly likes him. Mostly.

YAY. I'm sure it was massively funtimes. As Commander Cody himself is massively funtimes, emphasis on the massive. Poor Indy, I imagine she's learning a certain degree of patience. Which is hard to imagine, really.

(My shop has an awesome regular, a teenaged great dane who's having a rocky adolescence with some aggression issues. I feel for those big dogs sometimes, they have to be held to a pretty high standard due to the destruction they're capable of, even when they're still crazy crazy puppies.)
