The fact of the matter was, Puck probably would've shared a room with a one-eyed, one-horned flying purple people eater to be close by when Blaine needed him. But even that would've been far less awkward than sharing a room with Quinn after what had happened back at the clinic. He was pretty sure when he thought about it, that his lips were still tingling from the kiss she'd given him, only to have her immediately pull away, seeming to brush the whole thing off as a mistake. The fact was, Puck hated that part most of all. It wasn't that she kissed him, or even that she pulled away so quickly as much as her insistence that she shouldn't have done it, and it was just her emotions getting to her. Maybe that was true, or maybe she'd just panicked, but he didn't know, and it was mad awkward as they lay there in total silence, Puck in an almost identical position to Quinn as their strawberries and champagne sat untouched on the cart they'd been delivered on.

It had been so quiet in the room that when Quinn spoke, it startled Puck just a ( ... )

And Quinn was right in that boat too. She probably would have slept on the steps of the clinic if she was allowed to just in case the shit hit the fan and the content way they left Kurt and Blaine, with Blaine settling in lying next to Kurt to watch Dirty Dancing, went to hell. It was possible, but she didn't think it would happen. There had been something - some strength - in Kurt this time that he was drawing from Blaine and even just from the few minutes they had been there, Kurt seemed calm and not a coiled ball of anxiety and self-loathing. But she wanted to stick close for awhile anyway, even while Kurt wasn't out of the woods with his physical health. He was still being fed through a tube and food was making him sick, they didn't know if something else was going on there and she just wanted to wait it out. He was the most important person in her life, and she had to make sure he was as okay as he could be ( ... )

Even with Puck not knowing Kurt nearly as well as Quinn did, he could tell that Blaine had a calming effect on him, and that being with Kurt had just as much of an effect on Blaine. It was a relief to see Kurt letting Blaine in, though, and that the plug wasn't on the verge of being pulled just like before. He knew that Kurt was scared, and probably with good reason if it were any other guy he was seeing but Blaine. His issues were huge, and it was hard to imagine facing them on top of hoping like hell that the person you were seeing wouldn't just dump you when it got too hard. But that wasn't Blaine. Puck knew that from experience. He'd given his BFF no reason to want to be his friend, but Blaine had been relentless, and after a while, the two had become inseparable.

"As long as you're sure," Puck replied, his eyes still focused in on her face. He (gratefully) managed not to let out his initial response, which had been, I've slept in lots of weird places. Sure, she knew his background as a major slut, but that didn't mean that ( ... )

Quinn reached over and picked her phone up, checking the screen to make sure she hadn't missed any calls or messages form Kurt, Blaine or the clinic. She had the stupid thing with her the whole time, so it was just a silly move, really, but she was nervous and worried. When they had left, Blaine was taking his shoes off and cuddling up next to Kurt on the bed beside him and Kurt hadn't even flinched at the physical contact. He had just moved over carefully to make a little more room for Blaine and let Blaine fluff his pillows and fuss over him a bit. The rational part of her knew they would be okay but it really was hard for her to let go of the fag hag strings a little and let Blaine do the boyfriend thing. She was still getting used to the fact did, indeed, have a boyfriend just when it felt like that might never happen... that Kurt might never let it happen ( ... )
