My friend is just so wonderfully odd, and amazingly adept at cheering me up.

Wow, what were you doing in Amsterdam? You seem to have done some travelling recently ... weren't you in Turkey before?

I need to get away somewhere different. I'm going to take Tim to Edinburgh for his birthday in a couple of weeks, which is hardly exotic, but still, it's a change from London.
