Private to the Police Force
Lined up patrols to be put into effect next week, pending approval. Can't do much where there's no labeled streets and you're not working with anything remotely like a grid, so it's in circular fashion, as everything here seems to revolve around the damned carousel.
While I'd like to put a team on each section round the clock, there's not enough men yet and not enough to do much difference, anyway. So the City Proper's a good place to start as any, right in the center. Seems the way it works is that the most populated part is dead center, and then it starts branching out in wider, less populous circles.
So how it looks like it'll go is that the first patrol'll take center in that light purple area, what with all the shops and the market district and some of the more important civil buildings located there. Second and third get the half circles surrounding the sqaure, and the last three'll take the apartment buildings in the face of the blood clock. Map's down below.
That leaves the rest of the city: Xanadu, the Underground, all that beach area, the lake and all that, which don't have nearly as many people but there's still potential for crime. As the force gets bigger, which I see no reason why it wouldn't, save some bloody disaster that comes on average once a week, then expansions can branch out to the surrounding areas. My concern is that we're stretched too thin as it stands, and it's a new system so people're getting used to it. So stick to that inner circle.
I've hung the sign-up list of patrols on the Prison office door for those who've got a preference as to which part of the city they want to take on. So long as it's even, I couldn't give a damn who takes which part. Later on there's time to get into the specifics.
As for hours, there's three shifts, each eight hours apart. One's the early morning watch, that goes from 6am to 2pm. The afternoon/evening shift runs 2pm to 10pm, and the night shift goes 10pm to 6am. Again, from the size of the force I'm not too concerned about the early morning or even the first half of the afternoon shift. No one goes out and murders before breakfast if they can help it, most crimes happen at night. So it's the afternoon and night shifts for now.
That leaves training during the day. And we'll all be training at some point.
As for armor and protection, most've us have come with our own, luckily enough. You all know what suits you best. One added thing, if you're looking for magical protection on it, I'm setting up a contract between the watch and the wizard Harry for him to lay some spells or whatever it is he does. Sign up for that if you'd like.
Each of you've also been assigned a locker, for spare clothes, armor, etc. I've sent 'round keys to your homes which you ought to have got by now.
And I know that's a lot to absorb, so here's a sum-up of what you need to know:
-Patrolling begins next week. Sign up for one of the six patrolling areas, as well as which hours you want.
-Another sign up sheet is going around for those who want magical protection on their armor.
-Training round the clock during days off and off duty hours, whenever you can spare 'em.
-Lockers are for keeping safe your personal belongings, each has one key to themselves.
Oh, one last thing.
Seeing as it's how those deities who've decided to do all this, I figure they won't mind if we start running a line of credit. Coppers get free non-alcoholic bev'rages, stands to reason in any city of any world. Everything else you pay for. The deities can foot the bill for the occasional cup of tea, or coffee if you're posh.
That's all I've got for now. Map's below.

Anyone in this damned City know a good cobbler? That'd be the profession, not the fruit pie.
