Tarting up the seasonal home

I have no wintersparkle decorations and I want to make some. I favour biodegradable and/or scrap materials. I'm reasonably handy. Any ideas

But then my lovely seasonal home would smell of Marmite...
Sorry you can't eat them. You could have had mine, I'm not fond of them.
