Ok, I couldn't get HD to work, the Quicktime seemed to have a problem and I was too impatient to work it out. So I saw the tiny version on windows media. Wow! I hope they didn't just take all the good lines and scenes. Don't know how they can have a plot that works this all together, ties up the loose ends, and has an ending that doesn't require *complete* suspension of disbelief, but I'm willing to give it a go and see what they have ;-)
We were thinking of vacationing that week, but if we do, I had better find a baby sitter, 'cause I'm going to see this opening night.
Finally got the HD version...they weren't kidding when they said "loads slowly", but I didn't realize you would get a false completion message. Guess that's so I can't copy it and post it on YouTube or whatever ;-)
I don't have speakers on this monitor, but I do have headphones...DH heard the beginning part several times through the headphones on my desk, and was quoting it at me.
I didn't see Keith Richards! I hope that's because they are saving it, not because the parts with him suck...
I am pretty forgiving too. Except LOTR...well, movies made from books, basically. I am trying not to set my expectations too high for this, but with this much hype...the Star Wars movies had WAY too much hype, and the first one (episode one, you know, little Anakin) almost lived up to it in spite of that.
I watched parts over and over while downloading, and am trying not to go back again and again...I need to get some sleep!
What's your take on the music? Some is obviously the same themes (I have both sound tracks), but there are vocals to some parts -- do you know if that is standard (like Carmina Burana is used for damn near everything)? I don't know the piece at all to recognize it.
It's like someone at Disney said "How can we make sure redpram will spend the big bucks to see this in the cinema?" and someone else answered...."Chow Yun-Fat".

It's basically a bodice-thing, and it's not handmade for me, so it's too long, as I am short-waisted (or at least short). So I can handle sitting in it a little, but when we drove back from Ren Fest, I untied it. I'd rather have a real Elizabethan with a real corset/support, but where would I wear it? (And how could I afford either the time or money...) So the bodice (and shirt) were my $150 compromise.
