Actually, getting the wifi was difficult. My roommate has a Mac, and now that I no longer have windows neither of us were able to set up the Linksys router. Stef had to come over so she could use her windows laptop to get it all set up. The wifi itself works amazingly well though, especially without windows' naturally bloated system clogging up my memory. It's all quite efficient and even has enough eye candy to keep me happy haha

While my laptop isn't "old and crappy" it's not exactly the top of the line. It has a little seal on it that says "Windows Vista Capable" which really means that it's completely worthless if you install Vista. I was able to make more crazy amazing eye-candy deliciousness than you can shake a stick at. I'm sure you could do the same. Definitely check out Avant Window Navigator (make an OSX -like nav bar at the bottom of your screen, and check out compiz-magic to do wicked cool things with your desktop...
