I would really love to go visit you there one day. or in BCL. or on your tropical island. This year I was ACTUALLY looking into spending the holidays somewhere warm but my intuition got the best of me an here I am yet again sitting in the GREAT WHITE NORTH. Keep writing buddy.

marino, is this true,,,:

“I, for example, never trust men who wear those rather monk-like sandals, I figure they’re all
impostors and traitors; or anyone in Bermuda shorts or clamdiggers (men, I mean), which nowadays means
that in summer I trust no one, especially in Spain, that paradise of shameless ignominious get-ups.”

It kind of is, but with some nuances...in the canary islands, where i come from, shorts and sandals are inevitable because of the tropical weather, but there is an unspoken etiquette about them and everybody exercises soberty and rationality when wearing them. No tribal multicolored designs allowed for example, and sandals worn more than 200 meters away from the beach is unforgivingly frowned upon. We are very provintial for almost everything else, but this is an area where we can look down on the peninsulars, who are shameless and ignominious indeed.
It is also a very spanish thing to do to put down those of your own kind!
