If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

I think you're right, but I'm not a straight up idealist. I generally think people are terrible and the world is apathetic host. But through our actions, we can make the most good that we can.

That last statement is probably not true, but I don't really care anyway.

I think Jesus got it right. Particularly the lines "Upon this rock I will build my church," "Amen I say to you, they have received their reward," and "Why have you forsaken me?"
But as far as Christianity, or any religion goes, I don't think that anybody can understand things on that scale, and inevitably its going to get preverted. So there's that.

Not really. When he wanted to teach more people, he didn't do it through institutions. He did it through people. Simon was his rock. His foundations were people. He did not need infrastructure. His church was a living community, not grounded to this world, because we are transcendent.

So when the Church asks for money, even when its for good purposes, I have to reject that claim. Because Jesus said that we shouldn't need money or buildings or anything but ourselves.
