I never understood the intense focus of fundamentalist Christians on homosexuality and abortion. Okay, so abortion stops a beating heart, blah blah blah. War kills people too. And what about genocide in Sudan? Or rape? Or human trafficking? All of these things are cruel and inhumane, so why aren't there billboards calling for an end to sexual assault all across rural Minnesota?

I can see being a Christian of you're an intense student of the Bible. But if you're focusing on parts of the Bible that aren't as significant as sentiments like "judge not lest ye be judged" that large segments of a population prone to manipulation by charismatic religious figures, it smacks of blind faith rather than faith based on an actual search for truth and meaning (you know, hard mental work).
