because it was a freaking awesome book. and you know what? if they're going to destroy the themes, then no. they shouldn't make it a movie. the themes in this book were so deep and thought provoking that I can't understand why they classify it as children's literature. but now that they're taking those themes away, it'll probably be just another kids movie - just as sucky as eragon was. they're going to disgrace the entire thing...but i suppose there's still hope for it..if they don't slaughter it too badly.

movies should be made despite controversy. Controversy is usually good anyway.
But the people who say it's offensive must be pretty fucking shit brains if a movie based off of a CHILDREN"S book series, offends them.
