So if all his spikes were removed, would that make him slightly less crazy?

That's pretty hard to say. It might have removed his hunger, and certainly would have made it easier to contain him long enough for Jiniki to continue working on him, assuming I didn't decide to go through with "no makicka = dead" thing I semi-established.

The fact that he counters everything meant that he might have just sat there if they didn't attack him, but I can't say for sure now how I would have handled it. For all we know, I would have changed my mind and made him more aggressive.

I tend to allow things that are incredibly clever despite what my "intended story" has us defaulting to. Unless I made some kind of high-end super animation about it but that's never going to happen ahahaha.

LONG STORY SHORT: Probably not, but it could have lead to a command so clever that I would have had to allow it cause there were no clues that they were where his majicka came from save the actual images.

Yeeeah. I mean, Tayza's spikes glow when she's using her Majicka, but I'm pretty sure cutting them off wouldn't stop her power, so there would've been no precedent for us to figure that out with Jaysiph.

Alas, he'll just have to stay a really big ice-cube.

OR WOULD IT!? :o

...Nobody'd dare try, I don't think.

Apparently the only solutions I'm willing to give EXTREMELY OBVIOUS HINTS about are ones that keep people alive or ones that otherwise would keep us in the same room for 5 updates being bored and frustrated.

I'm just too much of a softy for these types of quests. I'm honestly surprised I held my guns about Jaysiph not becoming the 6th party member.
