Not-so stormy

GAWD, it's always the really weak tropical storms that are the sloppiest.  TS Erin moved in over the old Sea-Gun Inn and the Lamar Peninsula yesterday, near Corpus Christi  (Hello, are you Chrisites ok?  Or are ya'll called Corpuses?    ;)  )

It rained like a sumbitch over half of Texas, there's gonna be lots of flooding in the Hill Country.  ( Read more... )

YIKES, it's starting to thunder again, and it's gotten really dark outside, really fast. Just a while ago it was brillant-sunny!

Guess I'd better start yanking cords out of the wall s)

Actually the weather was quite nice down here. We got neither rain or wind from that storm. CNN was down here filming all ready for a storm to hit and they wound up filming about the Wednesday night sailboat races which were still going on since there wasn't any weather. My friend even got in the shot!! I'll post a link. :)

Heh, ya'll were awfully close to the storm to have nice weather, I guess that's what being on the south side will do, huh? :)

LOL about the boat races going on :) They make ya'lls sailors strong!

GEEZZZZ, Dean became one of the 5-powerfullest ever in recorded history storm in the Atlantic Basin. GEEEEEZZZZ, it was WAY into Camille territory!

I'm so glad that the Bermuda High, as I'd hoped, blocked him from coming up north. WOW, that sumbitch reminds me of Mitch, as far as its location and strength.

THEN!!! ...THEN!!!!, there's Erin.

TS Erin is what dumped so much flooding and death across the middle of the United States. ACKKKKKK!!

I'm TELLING ya, it's the low-strength tropical storms that are the damn sloppiest!!

ps: according to oral history, which I've heard first-hand, 1961's Carla dumped salty rain over Brazos and Burleson Counties, 150-miles inland. YIKES!!!

pps: Carla also continued to be a Tropical Storm up inland through Austin, then Fort Worth and Dallas, and just past the Texas/Oklahoma border.

...I remember trees blowing down the street, as well as Dan Rather showing us the first ever tv pictures of weather radar.
