Dude, you need to get your facts straight... The $1 increase was NOT a voter decided one. The Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA) approved the toll increase in January of this year, after the state legislature authorized it back in July of 2005. The Governator spearheaded the movement to ensure the Bay Area would be the one to pay for the new eastern span of the Bay Bridge, due to it's astetically better looking design, versus the plain old causeway he was only willing to pay for.

This increase has nothing to do with the fourth bore of the Caldecott (which is REALLY, REALLY needed) or Marin County as the 1x proposition approved last week only covers bonds, NOT toll increases.

No, no. I know the increase was not voted in. The last time we voted for it (2 years ago?), when it went up to $3, part of that was that it could be raised again without a public vote to fund the same projects. Which is why I voted no on it.

All the 1B-1E were all shit and people are fucking stupid for passing them because the state doesn't need to be more in debt, but I know that's unrelated to the bridge toll increase.
