Illustration for Mad Scientists Need More Love
To say I had fun with this would be an understatement. This is what I mean when I say that what I did for Bleach is tame compared to my typical furry fare. I love gory images, creepy moments and all things involving blood, pain and fear (though there is a distinct lack of it here lol) with a passion.
I experimented with my watercolor pencils, laying them down first then going in with pen. Sorry for anatomy fail, then going back with the watercolor. Not only is this the second image I ever did with them, this is also my second referenced Mayuri, it is also my first colored Bleach picture (since I am alone here for a change). I did a craptacular portrait of him the other day sans refs, but that doesn't count.
It was supposed to be quick, but instead took from about 9.30am till 1.50pm, so yeah...
Still not quite happy with my color skills....oh well....
Also, why do all my scans come out shitty? Seriously.
I'm beginning to think I perceive color and contrast differently than others or other artists have better skills with the image corrections than I do.
Also, why is it when I draw Mayuri I suddenly get the urge to draw Gorath (the owl)?
