Yeah, that's really confusing since sound needs a medium to travel on and it's not ether, so...that leads me to conclude that black holes must have mass. And if they have mass then they must radiate light of some kind - probably really slow, low energy stuff that you can't see of course - i wouldn't say it's because of dust. I say low because if it's only emitting such low sound waves, it's probably not emitting much energy at all. Plus the fact that they are "black" implies that they absorb more energy than they reflect back. Just my conjecture.

fifty-some octaves below middle C would be WAY beneath audible limits. It'd be sound in a definition sense only.
