Heh, so some of my favorite Swastika trivia:

Until WWII, the 45th Infantry Division of the National Guard (nowadays known as the Oklahoma National Guard) used the Swastika as it's symbol, since it was (at the time) a common Native American good-luck symbol. They changed to the Thunderbird (pretty much looks exactly like the one used by the Air Force's flight demo team) at the beginning of the war, and in 1942 most of the Native American tribes got together and collectively disowned the symbol.

Marginally related, Hitler's personal traincar was called "Amerika" but had to be renamed as well.
