It's snowing again this morning.
iai - Missed last week due to slicing up my right index finger pretty good (cut through the nail, and a good section alongside) while preparing supper.

Don't know the person, but for some describing specific things can help, or places. Or "Tell about the time you met the old, old woman on the train." Or ask her to write some haiku.

I often recommend Brenda Ueland's If You Want to Write, a lovely generous book of encouragement and hope for beginning writers who think they don't have anything to say, or who don't know how to say it. The book was written in the 1930's but the insights into the writing process are timeless.
