The wood *is* just beautiful. I love it. However, it is *very* untraditional, so that might be a slight wrinkle. However, beggars can't be choosers, and if this holds up to the intensive whacking I intend to subject it to on Sunday, then the Sensei (plural and divers) may just need to get over it. Springing a giant purple naginata on The Boss is one way I can strike back at him in a playful sort of way for talking me up a bit to the other elites he was visiting last week!
And I'd love to have a web page with Beth's Budo Works, home of the "Giant Purple People Beater." However, other woods in the running are a fairly normal wood color, and a nice deep reddish brown.
Very nice looking. Traditional or not, I love the color of the wood. I can also see the bubinga being nice. One of the Mason & Hamlin pianos I lust after comes in a beautiful bubinga finish. Lovely wood.
