It was such a teaser though. I wanted to observe some of the kata you were doing more closely. There were some beautiful, fluid, circular movements in some of them.
I am also totally intrigued with the naginata and want to learn MORE! Especially beating people about the head and shoulders!
That must have been some kind of judo training for a broken toe to be "well worth it."
I bet you were one tired, sore, but happy martial artist by the end of the weekend.
I also think you have a potential career ahead of you making weapons. Everyone who has seen the beautiful tanto you gave me has to hold it and run their fingers along its curves and lines.
It is a pretty special power you have there turning raw wood into something people are compelled to touch, stroke, and use.

Yes, that was tremendous fun. I only wish we had more space and time. Funny, while we were doing budo movie night at the ranch, I recognized a Tamiya-ryu exponent by one of the kata he did.
Thanks re: the weapons. It's nice to know it's not just me who is fascinated with them!
