Mr. Kitty at the vet
Mr. Kitty is cool as a cucumber while Dr. Dorsie has left the room to research his eye condition. He has no idea what "melanoma" is, nor what it might mean for him. He only knows it's so very bright in that eye-because the growth prevents his pupil from slitting ( Read more... )

Thanks. I'm going to call around to see if there's someone who can get him in sooner, but it might take that long to come up with the funds. It's not a lot in the scheme of things, but it's really bad timing.

Yeah, ask me about bad timing and our &#@%$ car... but you're talking about a living creature and a friend, which makes it worse. (Don't really ask me... I don't even want to think about it...)

Good luck to Mr. Kitty! He's having surgery the same day the BaldMan is, tho HIS is for a bone spur in his shoulder. Maybe they can trade hospital stories! LOL

One of the two we lost this summer (Max, our big orange tabby and white tom) had only one eye. His got shot out by some &$#@% kids with a BB gun. After a bit of initial adjustment, he did beautifully with just the one eye. Lived till a ripe old age of 14, Max did.

Yeah, he seems to be doing okay so far, though I'm not sure how much sight he has now in that one. He's still jumping onto things. As long as we catch it in time it's definitely worth it to me to have a one-eyed cat for a few years.

Aw, crap! Poor Mr Kitty! Best wishes for the surgery.

Have they/will they do a chest x-ray and abdomen ultrasound prior to surgery?
