life skills. things like nutrition and some cooking, how to balance a checkbook, write a resume, how to get an apartment, how to create a budget, how to understand a 401k, simple investments (like you would decide on a 401k or IRA with your bank), simple taxes, how to read/understand a contract (things like rental agreements and mortgages). etc. etc. etc.
i took a class like the second there, but it was minimal. we did the checkbook and what not, but never got into anything like a 401k.
i agree with you on the interpersonal relationships. i have heard (on npr)of a school doing some of this in their sex ed class. basically a lot of "this is what a healthy relationship looks like" type stuff. cut down on teen pregnancies at that school. as well as cutting down on abusive relationships which are pretty rampant in schools these days
